Keep Everyone Inform, Use A Language Transcription Service

Stay ahead of competitors by keeping employees inform of policy changes and company news

As the world grows smaller, the need for language transcription service grows with it. While English is the most widely used language in the global market, the work force isn't just composed of English speakers. These days, countless industries are hiring Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi, Dutch speakers, just to name a few. Whether these workers are based in the United States, or in their native countries, global companies need to translate policies and documents to keep inform and brief employees on any policy changes. For example, take the recent Swine Flu as an example. Misinformation abounded about the pandemic. To keep employees from getting the wrong information, many companies sent out updates. One catch. Many of the bulletins were printed in English. This is great for employees well versed in the English language, but not so for Spanish speakers, a dominant force in many industries including the restaurant business. The bulletins not only explained what Swine Flu is about, the causes, etc. But it also instructed workers to stay home if they're feeling ill and employees who handle food to wash their hands frequently. The bulletins were worthy precautionary measures. But they were useless to Spanish speakers who couldn't read English. This isn't uncommon. While many foreign transplants may be able to speak English, they may not know how to read English.

So while the intention of printing up these Swine Flu bulletins was well intended. Not everyone got the message. A simple solution would have been to hire a language transcription service to translate the bulletins into Spanish, Chinese, Arabic or all three. The turnaround time would have been quick. Furthermore, employees and onlookers would have made a mental note of the company's thoughtfulness, thoroughness and professionalism. This kind of public relations is well worth the effort of keeping every employee informed. Just imagine the positive feedbacks if you were a restaurant chain operator whose customers caught wind of your efforts to inform employees and protect diners.
